Technical Drawing  <<   Mechnical and Clutch Pencils Mechnical and Clutch Pencils   A Mechanical or Clutch Pencil is a great way to use a pencil without the need to sharpen it. The Pencils are filled with lead sticks and you feed more lead through as and when you need it. Mechanical Pencils use fine leads measuring from 0.35mm to 0.9/1mm diametre. You need to get the correct barrel size for the width of lead that you require. The Mechanical Pencils are filled with one standard HB lead but other Pencil Grades are available to buy separately. We stock the Faber Castell Super Polymer Lead Refills for our Mechanical Pencils. The Clutch Pencils have leads measuring 2mm or 3.15mm. They have a different action when feeding the lead through as the lead is gripped by powerful 'jaws' at the mouth of the pencil. Again these leads are available in different grades and can be sharpened by the Faber Castell Lead Pointer.
